Coastguards, the police and Royal Navy helicopters were involved in a search for the 60-year-old woman, who had been with a walking party near Hayle on Saturday evening. The woman, aged in her 60s, had been with a walking party near Hayle on Saturday evening.
It is unclear how the woman, from the Camborne area, came to be in the water. Coastguards said the walker, who is from the Camborne area, ended up in the water lodged in a narrow rock gully at the bottom of cliffs.

The rescue operation involved police, coastguard teams from St Ives and St Agnes and the rescue helicopter from RNAS Culdrose.
According to the Royal Navy, the woman was suffering from major injuries when she was located and winched to safety at about 21:20 GMT.
The crew of the rescue helicopter carried out first aid during the transfer to hospital but the woman later died.
Police enquiries are continuing but officers are not treating the death as suspicious.
