Arrest as armed police called to Swansea MP's office | |

A man has been arrested on suspicion of making threats to kill after armed police were called to an MP's office in Swansea. | |
Officers were called to Sian James' office in the Brynhyfryd area at around 11:20 GMT following an incident with a constituent. | |
Ms James was not at the building at the time and police said nobody had been hurt and no weapons were used. | |
The 53-year-old arrested man is in custody. | |
A spokesman for Ms James' office said staff had been sent home following the incident. | |
Three armed response cars were called to the office, along with a police patrol car, which was managing traffic, but officers have now left the area. | |
South Wales Police said: "Armed officers were deployed to the scene at Llangyfelach Road and to an address in Pentregethin Road in order to ensure the safety of the public. | |
"The man was arrested on suspicion of making threats to kill and is currently in custody at Swansea Central Police Station while an investigation continues." |
