The 22-year-old man who died following a fire at a house in Ballyclare, County Antrim, has been named locally as Brian Heaney.The 22-year-old man who died following a fire at a house in Ballyclare, County Antrim, has been named locally as Brian Heaney.
The Fire and Rescue Service received a call at 22:24 GMT on Sunday to attend the property at Rashee Park. Firefighters were called to the house at Rashee Park shortly after 22:20 GMT on Sunday.
It is understood the man had already been pulled from the building by a passer-by, however he died in hospital a short time later. It is believed the fire had started in a bedroom.
Police say the death is not believed to be suspicious. Neighbours saw smoke and dialled 999. One ran into the flat and dragged Mr Heaney out. Despite giving him CPR, paramedics could not save him.
The other man remains in hospital following the incident. He died in hospital a short time later.
