Reports of fire and explosion at Weybridge school | |

An explosion and fire have been reported at a school in Weybridge, Surrey. | |
Social media users have reported hearing the noise and seeing huge clouds of black smoke billowing up from St George's Primary School. | |
Fire crews were called to Thames Street just after 12:35 GMT to reports of the blast. | |
All children and staff are believed to be safe, Surrey Police said. Nearby roads have been closed. | |
Officers have advised parents collecting children to walk to the site. | |
A spokesman for Surrey Fire and Rescue Service said 40 firefighters, eight fire engines and a number of specialist vehicles have been sent to the blaze. | |
"At this time it is too early to comment further on the incident but updates will be provided on this site when available," he added. | |
A BBC reporter at the scene said there was a substantial amount of smoke surrounding the area. | |
