Reports of fire and explosion at Weybridge school Weybridge Primary school evacuated after 'explosion'

An explosion and fire have been reported at a school in Weybridge, Surrey. Teachers and children were evacuated from a primary school after a suspected explosion caused a fire to break out.
Social media users have reported hearing the noise and seeing huge clouds of black smoke billowing up from St George's Primary School. Eyewitnesses reported hearing the blast, at St George's Primary School in Weybridge, Surrey, at about 12:35 GMT.
Fire crews were called to Thames Street just after 12:35 GMT to reports of the blast. Shortly afterwards, huge clouds of black smoke were seen billowing up from building works on the school grounds.
All children and staff are believed to be safe, Surrey Police said. Nearby roads have been closed. All children and staff have now been allowed to return inside the school, Surrey Police said. No injuries were reported.

'Black and billowing'
An eye witness said he had been told there were no casualties but had seen children being evacuated.
"I saw all of them collected together in a road behind the school there were teachers making sure they didn't go anywhere," he said.
"They were safe away from the fire. The smoke was blowing away from them."
