Two 'life threatening injuries' after Brecon Beacons lightning strikes | |

Two people have sustained "life threatening injuries" after lightning strikes in the Brecon Beacons in Powys on Sunday. | |
The pair, including a man in his 50s, were flown by an RAF Sea King helicopter to Prince Charles Hospital in Merthyr Tydfil. | |
A third person was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries, the Welsh Ambulance Service said. | |
Emergency services were called to Pen y Fan at about 12:05 BST on Sunday. | |
It is understood that two of the casualties were on Cribyn, while the third casualty was on Corn Du, south-west of Pen y Fan. | |
"We received a call at 12.04pm on Pen Y Fan in the Brecon Beacons that a male had reportedly been struck by lightning," said a spokesperson for the Welsh Ambulance Service. | |
"We sent two ambulances, a rapid response vehicle and the hazardous area response team, and an ambulance officer. | |
"Three people in total have been conveyed to Prince Charles Hospital in Merthyr Tydfil. | |
"Two were conveyed by helicopter with life-threatening injuries, and one person was conveyed by ambulance with non-life threatening injuries." | |

Mid and West Fire and Rescue Service were called to the property in the village of Ferwig near Cardigan at about 13:10 BST on Sunday. | |
