Four other officers were injured during the arrest, which began at a flat but finished in a nearby Co-op store where Mr Sumner was subdued by officers using batons and a Taser. Eyewitness Simon Ellis said: "I went to the aid of the police officer. I dragged her by her stab vest. She had got a badly smashed ankle and severe head injuries."
