The New York Times has since released the transcript of their meeting with Trump. Staff who were present say he was mostly calm and polite, and even called the paper a "world jewel", despite branding them as "failing" on Twitter earlier that day. Trump has also just tweeted about working over Thanksgiving, but it's unclear whether many Americans will be giving him much thanks for that.
Trump has also tweeted about picking Ben Carson as the head of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). This would be a surprise as Carson refused to take a previous cabinet position due to his "lack of government experience".
