Six arrests after armed stand-off Four charged over siege at flat

Four men and two women have been arrested and are in police custody after an armed stand-off in Glasgow. Four men are due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Monday following a siege at a flat in the city.
Firearms officers were called to Balgrayhill Road in the Springburn area of the city. Police cordoned off Balgrayhill Road in the Springburn area at about 0745 GMT after going to investigate an alleged assault on two people.
Eyewitnesses said police cordoned off part of Balgrayhill Road and surrounded a flat. Four men were detained at about 1330 GMT and have been charged with serious assault and breach of the peace.
Officers had originally been called to the scene at 0745 GMT after reports that two people had been assaulted in the street. Two women who were also taken into custody have been released and are being treated as witnesses.
They were taken to hospital after suffering head and stab injuries, but have since been released. Two men were treated in hospital for knife wounds sustained before the siege.
Police marksmen and dogs attended the incident, which ended at about 1415 GMT.
