This year’s theme, ‘Common Values – the Basis for Growth in a Multipolar World’, sets the stage for high-level discussions on global economic challenges, sustainable growth, and new cooperation models amid ongoing geopolitical shifts. The agenda features roughly 150 sessions across five core tracks: World Economy: New Platform for Global Growth, Russian Economy: New Quality of Growth, Man in a New World, Living Environment, and Technology: Striving for Leadership. Thursday featured the opening of the forum and a large-scale exhibition showcasing innovative projects from Russian regions and international partners.
On Wednesday, Russian regions and corporations showcased major innovations, while a number of deals were signed with foreign partners in sectors such as agriculture, pharmaceuticals, cybersecurity, and film. Although no official figure has been announced, the organizers estimate that SPIEF 2025 will generate contracts worth 7.5 trillion rubles ($95 billion) a 20% rise over last year. Panel discussions on day two of the forum addressed a wide range of issues, from tackling global economic instability to promoting national identity and values in a multipolar world, as well as expanding BRICS and Global South cooperation.
Panel sessions on day one focused on key economic issues, including a Russian-Indian dialogue on small and medium-sized businesses. Delegations from Cuba, Brazil, and Thailand also held bilateral meetings with Russian officials and entrepreneurs. Russian President Vladimir Putin received an official invitation to the G20 summit in South Africa and met with Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto, who he called the forum’s main guest. Both leaders are scheduled to deliver speeches at Friday’s SPIEF plenary session, the forum’s centerpiece event.
