The detective appealed for anyone who was in the Neville Street area between the time of 1700 BST and 1830 BST on Saturday, and with information about the incident to call them on 02920 571530, or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. Neighbour Janet Wall described how she had looked out of her front window and seen what she thought was someone fallen over.
"But then the ambulance came and put him on the stretcher, they put him in the ambulance.
"I just thought he'd fallen over and hurt himself," she said.
