'Busy road' The car left the road at Eastgate and mounted the pavement, hitting a building at the bottom of Water Street and moving into the path of Ms Bloomer and her son.

All three casualties were treated by paramedics at the scene before being taken to Royal Blackburn Hospital, where the young boy and driver died.
They are appealing for anyone who saw the car before the crash to get in touch. Ms Bloomer is currently being treated in Royal Preston Hospital.
