An 18-month-old baby boy killed when a car mounted the kerb in Lancashire has been identified by police. Investigations are continuing into a crash that killed an 18-month-old baby boy and left his mother critically injured in Lancashire.
Jayden Bloomer and his mother Jackie Bloomer were hit by a Rover when it crashed in Water Street, Accrington, on Tuesday afternoon. Jackie Bloomer, 30, was pushing her son Jayden in his buggy along Water Street, Accrington, when a green Rover car mounted the kerb and hit them.
The driver of the car, an 89-year-old local man, also died. Ms Bloomer, 30, suffered multiple injuries and is critically ill in hospital. The 89-year-old driver also died. Ms Bloomer suffered multiple injuries and is in a critical condition in hospital.
Lancashire police are investigating the cause of the crash. Lancashire Police are still appealing for witnesses to the crash on Tuesday.
The car left the road at Eastgate and mounted the pavement, hitting a building at the bottom of Water Street and moving into the path of Ms Bloomer and her son. Ms Bloomer was walking to a school to pick up her other child when the collision happened at about 1500 GMT.
All three casualties were treated by paramedics at the scene before being taken to Royal Blackburn Hospital, where the young boy and driver died. Car movements
