Investigations are continuing into a crash that killed an 18-month-old baby boy and left his mother critically injured in Lancashire. | |
Jackie Bloomer, 30, was pushing her son Jayden in his buggy along Water Street, Accrington, when a green Rover car mounted the kerb and hit them. | |
The 89-year-old driver also died. Ms Bloomer suffered multiple injuries and is in a critical condition in hospital. | |
Lancashire Police are still appealing for witnesses to the crash on Tuesday. | |
Ms Bloomer was walking to a school to pick up her other child when the collision happened at about 1500 GMT. | |

The car left the road at Eastgate and mounted the pavement, hitting a building at the bottom of Water Street and moving into the path of the pair. | |
All three casualties were treated by paramedics at the scene before being taken to Royal Blackburn Hospital, where Jayden and the driver died. | |
