Back at the BBC town hall debate in Stirling, the candidates are discussing Afghanistan. The SNP's Alison Lindsay says she does not want forces there in the long term and that they should leave as soon as possible. Anne McGuire of Labour argues that it is important to stabilise Pakistan and the UK's troops understand the reasons for the war they are fighting. But Lib Dem Grahan Reed says it is a "failure" that the government has no way out of the conflict and an exit strategy must be worked out. Conservative Bob Dalrymple says troops going to Afghanistan have to be properly equipped. The Stirling panel moves on to local affairs, especially the economy. The SNP's Alison Lindsay says it is vital to get more young people into skills training. Lib Dem Graham Reed says there is plenty for Stirling to look forward to. Labour's Anne McGuire, who was elected as the local MP in 2005, argues that small businesses need support. Finally, Conservative Bob Dalrymple attacks government plans to increase National Insurance payments.
