SNP leader Alex Salmond says the London parties see the possibility of a hung Parliament as a "threat", while his regards it as an opportunity. He tells BBC Radio 4's Today programme that objectives can be achieved within such an environment and that he has done so in the Scottish Parliament, where the SNP runs a minority administration. Mr Salmond says he believes Labour, the Conservatives and the Lib Dems have specific cuts in mind, aimed at Scotland. Scotland and England should each be in charge of their own spending, he adds. Independence is the SNP's ambition and hopefully the level of support for his party at the general election will galvanise voters and allow for a referendum on the issue, Mr Salmond says.
