Russian forces are trying to take full control of Severodonetsk. Following the capture of Severodonetsk, Russian forces are now reportedly attacking the neighbouring city of Lysychansk, according to the Institute for the Study of War (ISW).
Russian forces have moved north from Popasna and have been bombarding the key T1302 highway, connecting Bakhmut and Lysychansk. Further west, Russian forces have continued to launch attacks towards Slovyansk from the direction of Izyum, aiming to regain momentum in the area, according to the MoD.
If Russia is able to establish control over this route, Lysychansk would be left with one supply road via Siversk.
